How do you Define DH?

DH is a big and probably over-stuffed box that holds an increasingly disparate menagerie of projects, processes, methods and positions that somehow manage to involve humanistic questions and digital technology (both broadly defined). At its best, it can be the most open-minded and egalitarian place in the humanities. At its worst, it can be, well, frustrating. It is practiced by some of the best folks I know and dismissed by some of the other best folks I know.

I’m the Digital Scholarship Librarian in Davis Library at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

I work with librarians, students and faculty to incorporate technology into humanities research.
